Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is Priority Status and how is it earned?
A. Priority Status is a tournament invitation system based on order of finish at U.S. Kids Golf Tournaments. Players must also meet the scoring requirement one time for their age group. There are four levels of Priority Status that players may earn based on their order of finish at U.S. Kids Golf events — Burgundy Status, Green Status, Orange Status, and Blue Status. This Priority Status is good for one year and covers all events that are played in that span. For more information, please visit the Priority Status page.
Q. Has my child qualified for the Teen/World Championship?
A. All players with Burgundy Status will receive an invitation to the Teen/World Championship. Other Priority Status invitations are sent out based on availability within each age group. For more information, visit the Registration Information pages under the World Championship and Teen World Championship pages.
Q. When will I receive an invitation to events?
A. The invitation schedule is listed on the “Registration Information” page for each event. Printable schedules are available here. The invitations are sent out by Priority Status. Most events have an open application period during the final period of registration for players that do not have Priority Status, but have met the USKG scoring requirement.
Q. Where do I enter my registration unlock code?
A. Once you have logged in to the USKG Club, select the “Tournaments Registration” link and scroll down to find the event. You will see an entry box for the code. Once you have entered the code, click “Unlock.” Select the checkbox under your player's name, then the green continue button at the bottom of the page. Follow the steps to complete registration.
Q. How do I confirm my child is registered for an event?
A. You will receive a confirmation email once you have registered your child for an event. If you would like to follow your child’s registrations online, you can do so by logging into your USKG Club Account, and select “Tournament Registrations” from the menu. A green “registered” and check mark will appear next to each event the player is registered for. You can also find your player future and past registrations by logging into your USKG Club Account, and selecting “My Players” from the menu. Click the player's name to view registrations.
Q. How do I cancel my registration for an event?
A. Each event has a Refund Policy. All cancellations and refunds can be completed by logging into your USKG Club account, and selecting “Tournament Registrations” from the menu. Under the green “registered” check mark will be a red “withdraw” link. Click on the red “withdraw” link to view the refund amount and remove your player from the event. Click “go back” to remain in the event. Once the “withdraw” button has been selected, the player will be removed or marked as withdrawn from the event based on the refund policy. This action cannot be undone once the final “withdraw” has been selected.
Q. If I cannot make it to the upcoming event, can I transfer the fees to the next event?
A. No, fees cannot be transferred between events. You will have to withdraw from the upcoming event and register separately for the next event. Our Refund Policy will apply accordingly when withdrawing from the event.
Q. What does first-come, first-served mean?
A. Each event has a maximum number of players that can participate. This is determined based on a combination of the number of tee times allowed by the golf course and available daylight. Once the maximum field is reached and all available tee times are allocated, players are placed on a waiting list at the age group level. For example, a maximum field of 300 players will allow the 1st 300 players to register, regardless of gender and/or age. Once the maximum field is solidified, each age group will fill to a multiple of three (for tee times). Players on the waiting list are accepted based on cancellations within the age group. Receiving an invitation does not guarantee a player’s spot. Entry into all events is subject to availability. Please note: the maximum field can be reached well before the registration deadline.
Q. “Accepting waitlist” appears under my player's name when I try to register. What does this mean?
A. Each U.S. Kids Golf event has a limited field size and registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis. If the event has reached maximum capacity, “accepting waitlist” will appear on the tournament registration page. You can add your player to a waitlist by selecting the check box and following the steps to confirm waitlist entry. There is no fee to add your player to the waitlist. Once you have completed the waitlist entry, you will receive an additional email confirmation. You will only be contacted if a spot becomes available for your player. If your player is accepted off of the waitlist, you will be emailed registration instructions. Local Tour players will not be accepted into an event after the registration deadline. If a player is added to a waitlist during the late registration period and is accepted into the event, the late fee will apply.
Q. Why does my player’s field size vary from event to event?
A. Each event is first-come, first-served at an overall event level. The maximum field size accommodates a specific number of players regardless of gender and/or age. Age group field sizes vary because more players in one age group register before players in another age group. For example, if seven players register for Boys 8 in event A and only three players register for Boys 8 in event B prior to the maximum field number being reached, the field sizes will be different and additional players will be added to the waiting list. Players on the waiting list are then filled based on cancellations in the age group.
Q. How much does each event cost?
A. Each event has a fee specified within the event description. For Regionals, World, Teen World and International, the fee information is located in the “Registration Information” section.
Q. Where do I enter my coupon code?
A. In step 3, the “Checkout” page has a coupon code option. Enter your code in the section labelled “Apply a Discount Code.” Enter the code in the box next to “Discount Code” and select “Apply.” Do this step prior to entering your credit card information to see discount amount removed from the total payment. To utilize the full amount, the coupon must be applied to a future tournament registration of equal or greater value.
Q. Are there any discounts on travel for U.S. Kids Golf Players?
A. Yes. U.S. Kids Golf has partnered with Avis Rental Car and Budget Rental Car to serve the transportation needs of U.S. Kids Golf families. For more information, visit the Rental Cars page.
