Q: What is Priority Status and how does my child earn status?
A. There are three levels of Priority Status that players may earn based on their order of finish at U.S. Kids Golf events: Green Status, Orange Status, and Blue Status. Q. What is the Pace of Play policy for Major Championships?
A. Each player must play without undue delay, which is defined as taking no more than 45 seconds to play a shot. Those players who are first to play from a given area (tee, fairway, green, etc.) will have 10 extra seconds to play their shot. Caddies are asked to please refrain from over-coaching the player. It is the caddie’s duty to help the player hit each shot within a reasonable period of time. The pace of play card system may be implemented to determine when groups are behind time or out of position. If the group receives a RED card and continues to fall behind each member of the group may be timed. Groups finishing on a RED card will be issued a penalty stroke for each consecutive RED card received. Players may appeal any pace of play penalties at the conclusion of the round to a rules official. The 45-second rule is in place to assure playing without “undue delay” and to prevent over coaching and slow play. It will also be used to determine the outcome of pace of play appeals. More Information regarding Major Championship Policies can be found by clicking the Rules and Regulations link.
Q. Has my child qualified for the World Championship?
A. You can follow your child’s Status on our Priority Status Player List. The Key Dates calendar will allow you to follow the registration period for each event. If your child has Green Status during the time period in which the World Championship is played, he or she will receive an invitation.
Q: My Child did not receive an invitation to the World Championship; can he/she still register?
A. Your child must achieve Green Status in order receive an invitation to the World Championship. A player can earn Green Status by becoming Player of the Year on the Local Tour by winning his or her age group, playing in at least four events, and meeting the Scoring Requirement, or by playing in a Qualifier and winning his or her age group while meeting the Scoring Requirement. Based on availability, Scoring Exemptions may be given out to players with low scores who do not have Green Status. For more information follow the links below.
Q. My code has expired, how do I obtain the current code?
A. Once you receive an invitation code, you have approximately three weeks to register using that code. Once the code has expired, you may contact customer service at email@example.com to inquire about the current code. Based on the availability in your child's age group, you may or may not receive the code. By receiving an unlock code, you are not guaranteed a spot in the event. We recommend that if you are planning to attend an event, you should register as soon as you receive your invitation.
